Terry Marschall

Terry Marschall has been active as a mediator of workplace conflict for more than three decades. In her capacity as a certified mediator and as a master trainer for Mediation Training Institute, she has guided hundreds of people in resolving their differences in the workplace, creating collaborative and productive environments, and preserving the employer’s bottom line.Terry’s success in resolving conflict flows from a deep understanding of the complexity and dynamics of workplace relationships and their impact on the organization as a whole.

Terry’s background as a small business owner, consultant, and as a senior executive in the Fortune 500 arena, allows her a good understanding of the issues that face today’s workplace. She has held numerous executive level corporate and regional positions with top companies such as the Target Corporation and Woodward & Lothrop/John Wanamaker. She has held positions as Divisional Vice President, Regional Human Resources Manager, Stores Director and Senior Buyer, and has had direct responsibilities for budgets of more than $80M annually and led more than 400-person teams.

Terry has a strong background in HR management with extensive experience in recruitment, employee relations, succession planning, and leadership development. With experience in instructional design, Terry has developed and presented a variety of programs in areas such as conflict management, coaching for development and performance, interviewing and selection, team effectiveness, organizational alignment, and union response. She is certified to administer, deliver and interpret results of various behavioral assessment instruments relating to conflict management and employee development.

As a consultant, Terry holds an excellent reputation among her clientele a source of sensible solutions in difficult situations. She is exceptional in her ability to engage meaningful communications and relations with people from all walks of life…from the top executive to the line worker. Her intuitive problem-solving approach has successfully guided her clients to strategies with demonstrable bottom line results.

Terry is certified as a Senior Human Resources Professional (SPHR) by the Human Resources Certification Institute (HRCI), and Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) by the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). Terry holds dual Bachelors’ Degrees in Business Administration and Fashion/ Textile Design, with post graduate studies in Human Resource Development.

Dr. Dan Dana

Dan Dana is the original founder of MTI, and now serves on the board of directors for MTI. Holding the Ph.D. in psychology, Dan served for several years as a professor of organizational behavior at the University of Hartford (Connecticut) Graduate School of Business, and has held faculty appointments at Syracuse University and several other institutions. (A former student once called him “Doctor Conflict,” and the moniker stuck!)

Dorie Michalik

Dorie Michalik is the Director of Business Development for the Mediation Training Institute at Eckerd College.

Dorie is originally from Scranton, Pennsylvania and relocated to St. Petersburg, Florida with her family. She holds an Associate’s Degree in Accounting from Lackawanna College and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from Eckerd College. Dorie has extensive experience in Accounting, Marketing, Business Administration and Client Relations and has held various positions in the manufacturing and educational environments throughout her career. She owned and operated a business providing marketing services and products serving customers across the United States.

In addition to her professional experience, Dorie has volunteered her time in event management and fundraising for the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life, among other organizations. Dorie is currently on the Board of Directors for the Literacy Council of St. Petersburg and is passionate about the issue of adult literacy, serving as a tutor to adult students.
